The first clue for the Doctor, that something was amiss in his TARDIS, wasn't the music blaring through it at an insane volume. He was learning to deal with it, after all, they'd made a deal and today the Master could listen to whatever he liked, as loud as he liked, for as long as he wanted.

The Doctor was rapidly beginning to regret compromising.

His first clue though, was the Master's suit jacket lying thrown onto the floor and the shoes that toed off in the adjoining corridor. He picked up the three items, giving a groan of frustration that couldn't be heard over the racket.

"What is this?" he shouted, voice still mostly drowned out even at this distance. "Master why are you listening to Green Day?!"

No response save the other Time Lord's raucous, off-key and very, very loud singing that more resembled shouting. It was coming from the kitchen and the door leading in was open. He would've headed there immediately, but the Master seemed to be in a mood. By mood, that meant leaving all his things lying about like some errant child and leaving the Doctor to tidy up.

He was halfway down the corridor when he saw something that made him drop the bundle of belongings in his arms and stare in shock. The Master had just slid across the floor in naught but his dress shirt, loose tie, boxers and socks.

And he'd done it ringing a bell.

"Sometimes I give myself the creeps. Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me. It all keeps adding up! I think I'm cracking up-!"

The Doctor pretended not to hear him as he gathered the items back up into his arms and made his way to the kitchen. Yes, he'd compromised but this was just-no. Not in his TARDIS. With every intention of storming into the kitchen and telling the Master how things would be, he headed in, opened his mouth, finger already raised to point-!

And stopped.

The Master was leaning calmly against the counter, grasping a cup of tea in one hand and holding it out for the Doctor.

"What's this?" he eyed it with suspicion. The Master rolled his eyes at him.

"It's tea. Good morning to you too." The music had receded to a bearable level and the Doctor could hear himself think, finally.

"Well-" He blinked at him and hesitantly took the tea, eyeing it as if it might do something absurd like attack him. "--Good morning. You're up early."

"I wanted to get an early start on my day."

"Right, of course. So, any ideas on what you'd like to do?"

The Master sipped his tea and gave a small shrug. "I'm still deciding."

The Doctor gave in and tried his own tea. Not bad. Not at all. "You'll let me know then?"

"Naturally."

"So...I left your things in the hall. Off to the side so no one trips, you'll get it up later?"

"Of course, my dear Doctor." he smiled graciously and the Doctor felt a twinge of worry. He had something up his sleeve, he was sure of it. "Now if you don't mind, I'd like to listen to my song."

"Oh. Didn't mean to-right. I should-"

"Yes, you should."

He headed for the door, tea in hand and turned back to say thank you only for the music to come back to full volume, making his teeth vibrate and he decided it was really best for both of them if he just left.

Haha, this is cute. I love the idea of the Master throwing the Doctor a little off kilter by confusing him like that.

The Master strives to keep everyone on their toes. Complacency just will not do. Glad you enjoyed it.

Love this! Hilariously throwing the Doctor off-center, making things as difficult as possible without doing much at all.

Also, love the bell.

Glad you did! Wouldn't want the Doctor growing accustomed to any sort of pattern, would we?

Blame the watching and rewatching and rewatching of Last of the Time Lords.
