opening fic: couldn't think of a proper title. :|
The Master awarded the Doctor's glee with a look. "Shall I walk around the TARDIS and pretend to be stumped?"
"Why do you have to go and ruin it?"
He gave a shrug. It was fun. "I could gasp or faint. Or gasp and faint."
"Master."
"Or the running in and then back out because that never gets old, does it?"
The Doctor shook his head and started towards the doors, pulling out his key and ignoring him. "If you're going to just make this seem like nothing."
"Oh was this meant to be one of those supremely self satisfied moments of yours? Where you go on and on about the brilliance of you?"
"See! There it is, right there! You cheapening the moment." The Master barely contained his laughter at the statement and the ensuing Hands on Hips stance the Doctor took as he looked at him.
"And by moment you mean this one we share in which I'm so utterly pleased to become your captive Companion?"
"I could give you over to Torchwood."
The Master rolled his eyes and gave a put upon sigh. "You could at least attempt to lie convincingly."
The Doctor scowled and returned to his unlocking of the TARDIS doors, palming them open and turning back to the Master. "Well?"
Long, silent moments passed and the Master could sense the other Time Lord's growing agitation. Just when the Doctor was about to speak, he decided to break the silence. "You aren't going to carry me over the threshold?"
"In. Now." he said, voice tight and eyes hard.
The Master cocked a brow at him and strode in through the doors. The Doctor gave an inward sigh and strolled in after him.
"Oh look it's bigger on the inside!"
